Long before MYMIKA came to life, I discovered Reef’s charming grandparents on Instagram (@wantshowasyoung). Their spirit and style, showcased in fashionable outfits, captivated me and hundreds of thousands of fans. One phrase from Reef’s profile particularly resonated with me: “衣服就算放了10年，還是可以很時尚”.
In 2020, as the world came to a halt due to Covid, I found myself at home in Texas with little need for outfit planning. Out of boredom, I began organizing my home, much to the delight of my husband and children. While cleaning out my closet, I rediscovered forgotten gems. Despite some questionable fashion choices from my past, I found pieces that had come back into style or could be worn in new ways to suit my current life stage. That phrase from Reef kept echoing in my mind.
As the pandemic passed and life resumed, my perspective on consumerism shifted. I noticed the resurgence of past trends and began to value what I already had. While I still love browsing and shopping, I developed a love for unique, older, and vintage pieces. I longed for more places to find such treasures while feeling like I was shopping brand new.
Now, it feels surreal that MYMIKA is partnering with 萬秀洗衣店. Beyond ensuring every pre-loved piece we sell is properly treated and cleaned, we share a commitment to mindful consumption.
