Recently, there have been a lot of articles and hype about the rise of “quiet luxury” – from Gwyneth Paltrow’s courtroom looks to the cast members of Succession’s outfits. This is spoken in contrast to the logo-clad individuals, who like to exert their status with designer-clad outfits and accessories – so-called “loud luxury”. Oftentimes the topic of “quiet vs. loud luxury” is spoken in relation to an individual’s status both financially and socially. We find that notion littered with underhanded judgment and passive-aggressive attacks on either side. Old money vs. new money. Tasteless vs. Class. Trendy vs. Tacky. At times, it seems to be yet another way to pit women against each other with made up categories.
At MYMIKA, we believe that true luxury is in knowing who you are and having the confidence to show that via your personal style. Whether you do that with logos or no logos, by spending a lot of money or not, true luxury is not in the material things. It comes from the inside. Regardless of where you are in life, let us walk with you – using style to visually communicate who you truly are through the different phases of your life.
